It was a real emotional episode during Wednesday’s airing of the Fox TV show The Real:Daytime. After being asked certain questions, the women of the show made strong confessions about themselves and one specific question strongly hit Adrienne Bailon.

The 30-year-old TV-host, who made her first steps into the entertainment industry as a signer for the former girl group 3LW and later The Cheetah Girls– read a fan question that asked her,

“You have an amazing voice, why are you hiding it from the world? Why are you not making music?”

Tears instantly filled up Adrienne’s eyes, causing her co-hosts Tamera Mowry, Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, and Jeannie Mai to tear down with her as well. Adrienne, choked up began to answer her question in the most sincere way and said,

“Umm, one, I’m scared to fail, so I’ve had this solo album people that I’ve been saying is coming out for the last five years…I’m scared to fail, I don’t like the sound of my own voice.”

The former 3LW singer continued and confessed she enjoyed the R&B part while being in 3LW–however she admitted when being in the Cheetah Girls they praised her for sounding so young. As tears ran down her face, Bailon revealed that as a 30-year-old woman she feels insecure about hearing her voice recorded because she thinks she continues to sound young.

Speaking about her experience in the industry she added,

“But, for a long time I think when I finished Cheetah Girls, I got a record deal at Def Jam and it didn’t go the way I thought it was gonna go. Like there was so much more to music than just what I love about music. I grew up singing in church. I sing everyday—nobody knows it, but I love to sing.”

She then said,

“I felt like the music business was different than when I got in the game at 16 years old. It was about music and talent and singing. And to step out on my own and let my voice be heard, I’m scared. Like what if people don’t like it? Or what if it’s not, I don’t know…what if it’s not successful? Like I almost have been saying I would rather it not come out and just say, ‘Well it just never came out,’ then for it come out and be wack.”

After that her fellow girl pal, Tamera stepped in and gave Adrienne a piece of advice she always gave her and said,

“Adrienne, you’re always the one telling me though, ‘Never live your life with what ifs,’ like, ‘What if I did this or did that’? So would you ever want to live your life asking yourself, ‘What if I never tried, I never went out there and did my own solo album!’ You’ll never know until you try it!”

Bailon then expressed about when working on her music many doors opened up for her, but music. Tamar was quick to step in and suggested,

“Maybe the door has not been open for you because you’re not ready and you’d be walking into it for all the wrong reasons.”

We could not have said it any better ourselves. Adrienne you do what you love and as long as you have faith and love what you are doing your work will come out exceptional! We love you Adrienne and we really hope to hear your album soon, we are dying to see what you have been working on for the past five years!!!!
